What's the best image size for Instagram?

For Instagram feed, use 1080×1080 (1:1 square) or 1080×1350 (4:5 portrait — Instagram's preferred portrait format that takes up the most screen space). For Stories and Reels, use 1080×1920 (9:16). All these presets are pre-built under the Social Media tab.

What's the best image size for Amazon and Shopify?

Amazon requires 1:1 square images at minimum 1000×1000 pixels — we recommend 2000×2000 to enable the zoom feature on product detail pages. Shopify recommends 2048×2048 for product images. Etsy supports up to 2700×2025. All these presets are sized for these requirements under the E-commerce tab.

Will my images lose quality when resized?

When downsizing (making images smaller), there is no perceptible quality loss — the image just contains less data. When upscaling (making images larger), quality cannot be added — the image will appear softer because pixels are being interpolated. For best results, always start from the highest-resolution source available and downsize from there.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All resizing happens locally inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device. There are no servers, no cloud storage, and no privacy risks. Confidential product photos and personal images stay completely private.

What output formats are supported?

You can output resized images as JPG, PNG, or WebP — or keep the original format with the "Same as input" option. WebP is recommended for the smallest file sizes (typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality). PNG is required when you need transparency. Use our WebP converter to compress further after resizing.

How does the aspect ratio lock work?

On the Custom tab, click the lock icon (🔓 → 🔒) to lock the current aspect ratio. While locked, changing the width automatically adjusts the height (and vice versa) to maintain the same ratio. This is useful for resizing to a specific dimension while keeping the original proportions — for example, scaling a 1920×1080 image down to 1280×720 without distortion.
